THE HOUSE OF SAMUEL & CO.

The story of Samuel & Co. did not begin in a workshop, but in a global pursuit. It began when our founder, Samuel, sought to mark a definitive moment in time: an engagement. Rejecting the ubiquity of the traditional diamond, he sought a stone that mirrored the woman he loved — Simran — a woman defined by rarity, depth, and a beauty that had never been seen before. When the historic ateliers failed to provide the extraordinary, Samuel did what few dare to do; he deconstructed the entire jewellery-making process and embarked on a journey across the world to find the impossible himself.

His journey led him to the heart of the global gemstone trade, where the world’s most significant treasures change hands. It was there he discovered the “pure magic” he had been searching for: an Old Mine Muzo emerald. This was a stone glowing with a vivid green fire, a specimen of such investment-grade excellence that it changed his entire perception of what jewellery could be. This discovery solidified the philosophy of our House: we realised that true luxury is not found on a shelf; it is unearthed through a tireless search for the “out of this world.”

Upon his return, the mission evolved from a personal quest into a professional legacy, merging two lifetimes of distinct expertise. Simran, our Creative Director, is an artist whose journey began before she could write; drawing was her first language. Having spent a lifetime mastering various mediums, she found her ultimate expression in the intricate, high-precision world of gouache jewellery painting. Her lifelong devotion to fine art ensures that every Samuel & Co. piece is born from a directorial eye for the magnificent.

This artistic flair is met by Samuel’s analytical foundation. Raised within a family tradition of high-value acquisition, Samuel was mentored from a young age to possess a disciplined investor’s mindset. Having spent his career striving to pair this financial acumen with his appreciation for the finest things in life, he found his calling in the curation of investment-grade gemstones of uncompromising purity.

Together, they have created a symphony — a union where the generational wisdom of the investor meets the lifelong passion of the artist.

Today, Samuel & Co. exists for the individual who views jewellery not as an accessory, but as a legacy. We operate in the rare space where stones of pure magic are met with the daring of 1-of-1 bespoke artistry. For the business-savvy connoisseur, we provide more than a signature piece; we provide an enduring asset. The House of Samuel & Co. is built on the singular belief that for those who understand true rarity, the exceptional is the only standard.

Heritage & Atelier Lineage

A House Built Upon Generations of Mastery

While Samuel and Co Jewellery Limited was recently formalised in London to launch our digital flagship, our craft is rooted in many years of dedicated artistry — a continuum of bench discipline, gemstone connoisseurship, and atelier collaboration that long precedes any corporate registration.

Multi-Generational Expertise

Samuel & Co. draws upon a constellation of master bench jewellers, gemstone setters, and specialist workshops whose lineage spans more than three generations. Our founder’s pursuit of the extraordinary did not begin in isolation; it was refined through years of close collaboration with artisans who inherit techniques passed from mentor to apprentice — the quiet, exacting language of the file, the graver, and the loupe.

The incorporation of Samuel and Co Jewellery Limited in Hatton Garden marks the opening of our public atelier doors, not the beginning of our expertise. It is the formal expression of a practice already steeped in global sourcing, investment-grade gemology, and the commissioning of one-of-one high jewellery for discerning patrons who expect nothing less than museum-calibre execution.

The Hatton Garden Connection

Our identity is anchored in London’s historic luxury jewellery quarter — Hatton Garden — where traditional bench craft and contemporary design have coexisted for centuries. From our suite within 34–35 Hatton Garden, we honour the district’s heritage of hand fabrication whilst advancing a distinctly modern vision: narrative-led commissions, architectural silhouettes, and stones selected for character rather than convention.

Here, time-honoured techniques — hand-engraving, pavé setting, platinum smithing, and the patient calibration of a bespoke mount — meet the precision of today’s most exacting standards. Hatton Garden is not merely our address; it is the crucible in which Samuel & Co. transforms rare materials into heirlooms.

An Uncompromising Philosophy

Every Samuel & Co. commission is bespoke and made to order. We do not maintain mass-produced inventory. Each piece is conceived for a singular wearer, hand-finished through our London atelier and a trusted network of master workshops, and delivered with white-glove care once artisan production, custom presentation, and fully insured dispatch are complete — a process that may require up to six weeks, reflecting the integrity of true handcraft.

Our material philosophy is equally exacting. We source only the finest, clean-ingredient, conflict-free gemstones and precious metals, prioritising traceable provenance and investment-grade rarity. From pigeon-blood rubies and Old Mine emeralds to fancy-colour diamonds and natural conch pearls, every stone is selected with the rigour of a collector and the eye of an artist — because at Samuel & Co., the exceptional is the only standard worth signing.
