The Yadanar Thaing Ruby Ring takes its name from two Burmese inheritances: yadanar (ရတနာ), the word for jewel, and the great serpent of Myanmar — the Burmese python, whose coiling form governs the architecture of the piece. For centuries, the python has moved through the same Golden Land that yields Mogok's pigeon-blood rubies; here, serpent and stone are united in platinum and diamond, the ruby held as both treasure and totem.
